What?
iRewardChart makes it easy to reward your children for their good behavior and keep them motivated. Use your iPhone to setup your child’s information, assign tasks, track their progress and payout rewards for their achievements. Assign tasks and rewards from the preset list or define your own tasks and rewards and use them.
Why?
Parents want to raise their children to be responsible, caring and well mannered. Children love to feel responsible, challenged and respected. However, children do not like to be ordered by their parents on what/how they can and cannot do. They would like to be able to make choices for themselves. This is where reward charts come in. Reward charts let you provide your children with set of choices (tasks) and consequences (rewards) and have them decide for themselves. And to be able to do that on the go is a great way to show your children that you care.
How?
- Start by entering your child’s name and a picture of your child
- Choose rewards that will motivate your child. If the rewards of your interest do not exist in the preset list, create your own rewards.
- Assign tasks you want for your child. Do not be limited by the preset list of tasks provided. Use your imagination and create your own tasks if the preset list does not fit your needs.
- Give out stars when your child performs the task assigned on a particular day.
- When your child accumulates enough stars, payout the reward that your child wants.
- When you think that your child has mastered a set of assigned tasks, assign new tasks and track.
Tips for choosing tasks and rewards for your child:
- Choosing tasks;
** For children of age 3 through 5, you can assign tasks to beat the tantrums, turn down whining, or help them potty train.
** For the children of age 5 through 7, you can assign tasks that encourage listening, stop talking back, or get them to help around the house
** For the children of age 7+, you can assign tasks around their homework, sibling rivalry, or indoor/outdoor chores.
- Choosing rewards;
** Pick the rewards that will motivate your child.
** Rewards do not need to be money based.
** Involve your child and let him/her come up with reward ideas.
Who?
- Parents of 3 – 13 year olds that are on the go.
- Parents that want to encourage their kids to do well, be good and earn rewards.
- Parents who wish they brought the reward chart on the refrigerator with them.
- Parents who hoped they had a reward system that let them go back in time to see their child’s achievements.
